Indiana’s first distillery, Huber’s Starlight Distillery, opened in 2001 with the production of Brandy. We expanded our Spirits production in 2012, adding Gin, Vodka, Rum, Whiskey, Rye and Bourbon and our Rickhouse now houses over 1000 barrels. The addition of 40 acres of grain crops means our Distillers can continue the tradition of Farm-to-bottle established by our winemakers as we grow and utilize our own corn and other grains in our products.
Settled in 1843 by Simon Huber, the Farm has grown from 50 to over 600 acres, with agriculture and wine-making at the heart of it all. As one of the highest points of elevation in Indiana, our fields produce an abundance of fruits perfect for wine and spirits making. Strawberries, peaches, blueberries, blackberries and over 18 varieties of grapes – just to name a few. Estate grown is not just a tag line to put on a bottle, for the Huber family of farmers and wine-makers it is a way of life. We plant, grow, ferment, and bottle over 40 different types of wines, infusions, and ports, all products of the Indiana Uplands. As Indiana’s largest wine-grape producer, our vineyards will produce nearly 400,000 pounds of grapes per year under normal weather conditions. Within our cellar, the old world art of winemaking combines with the most modern equipment and technology to manifest our magnificent vintages. Every bit of our hard work has paid off with over 900 gold, silver & bronze awards from wine competitions from all regions of the United States.
